Ortho-phenylenediamine Based Bis-ureas as the Ion Selective Sensors; A QM/MD Study
Density functional theory dispersion corrected (DFT-D3)calculations and molecular dynamic (MD) simulation were applied to investigate the sensing ability of four types of receptors (RCs) composed of the ortho-phenylenediamine based bis-ureas for selective complexation with the anions such as Cl–, Br–, OAC–, PhCO2–, H2PO4– and HSO4– in the gas phase and DMSO. On the basis of the data obtained fr...
متن کاملAnion transport by ortho-phenylene bis-ureas across cell and vesicle membranes.
Ortho-Phenylene bis-ureas serve as anionophores in cells expressing halide-sensitive yellow fluorescent protein, as well as in synthetic vesicles. Activities can reach high levels, and are strongly dependent on the deliverability of the transporters.
متن کاملAnion binding vs. sulfonamide deprotonation in functionalised ureas.
Sulfonamide groups, commonly used as neutral hydrogen bond donors in a wide variety of anion receptors, deprotonate upon addition of certain basic anionic guests in two simple functionalised ureas.
متن کاملOrthohalogen substituents dramatically enhance hydrogen bonding of aromatic ureas in solution.
The phenylurea moiety is a ubiquitous synthon in supramolecular chemistry. Here we report that the introduction of chlorine or bromine atoms in the ortho positions to the urea unit is a simple and very efficient way to improve its intermolecular hydrogen bond (HB) donor character. This effect was demonstrated in solution both in the context of self-association of bis-ureas and hydrogen bonding ...
متن کاملDesymmetrisation of aromatic diamines and synthesis of non-symmetrical thiourea derivatives by click-mechanochemistry.
ortho- and para-Phenylenediamines were desymmetrised and quantitatively transformed into mono- and bis-(thio)ureas or mixed thiourea-ureas through a one-pot mechanochemical click reaction sequence; mechanochemical desymmetrisation proceeds quantitatively without excess reagents and allows the controlled extension of a molecular structure by combining normally competing reactions.
